On The Tonight Show, Ty Dolla $ign joined Kid Cudi for a performance of his brand-new song, “Willing To Trust.” Sitting side by side on the stage of the late-night program, the couple performed the mid-tempo, atmospheric track.
“Willing To Trust” was released by Cudi last week. The track will be included on his upcoming album, Entergalactic, which will be released on September 30 by Republic Records and will be accompanied by a Netflix original series of the same name.
After 2020’s Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, Kid Cudi released Entergalactic, his eighth solo album (and tenth altogether, if you add his joint albums with WZRD and Kids See Ghosts). Cudi posted “Anger” and “Do What I Want” before releasing “Willing to Trust.”
On September 30, the LP will be released together with the corresponding animated series. The multimedia project chronicles “the journey of two young artists finding love in New York City through the ups and downs.” The voice cast of the animated series includes Cudi, Jessica Williams, Timothée Chalamet, Ty Dolla $ign, Vanessa Hudgens, Laura Harrier, Jaden Smith, and Macaulay Culkin.
Kid Cuti also talked about his two projects, appearing mostly nude on the cover of Esquire, and working with director Ti West with host Jimmy Fallon.
A significant turning point in Kid Cudi’s career was the release of Entergalactic. Cudi recently admitted to Rolling Stone, “I never thought I’d have this many records.” Therefore, I currently feel incredibly fortunate to be able to do what I’m doing at this point in my career.
He continued, “I’ve been able to change with the times while still remaining myself in this regard. We’ve witnessed that with other artists so that in and of itself is an art form. Some artists don’t endure throughout time. Therefore, when you witness me performing songs from Man on the Moon II, such as “GHOST!” and realize how much the youngsters enjoy it. As though it were brand new. It conveys a message. It’s a very potent feeling.
