Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan, who played characters from “The Lord of the Rings,” teamed up on social media to defend the diverse casting in Amazon’s new series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” which premiered its first two episodes on Sept. 2 to critical acclaim and 25 million viewers worldwide.

In a photo, Wood, Boyd, and Monaghan can be seen sporting t-shirts with illustrations of the ears of creatures from Middle-earth in various skin tones.

All of you are invited, Wood captions the picture.

Sean Astin shared a photo of himself wearing a hat with the same pattern on his Twitter page.

The message is quite clear: Wood, Boyd, Astin, and Monaghan support the Middle-acceptance earth of variety, precisely as is shown in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.”

The “Game of Thrones” prequel “House of the Dragon,” which also drew criticism from racist fans for featuring performers of color, appeared shortly after “The Rings of Power” did. Whoopi Goldberg is among the notable Hollywood figures who have denounced the racial backlash.

On a recent edition of “The View,” Goldberg remarked of the two shows, “They don’t exist in the real world.

Dragons are nonexistent. Hobbits are not present. Do you mean to say that Black people cannot be phony people? Are you telling me that? I’m not sure if there will be demonstrations or if there will be something like a hobbit club, but folks! What’s wrong with all of you? ”

Goldberg said, “Get a job for all of you who have issues because there are Black Hobbits! Take a job! Because you are concentrating on the incorrect things, go discover yourself.
