According to the couple, they are expecting their first child, a son. This was confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE by them.
When it came to having children, the former American Idol contestant says, “We always knew we wanted to spend the first few years traveling and having time on the road, to see things and experience life.”
Now that we’ve experienced so much and done so many exciting things, it feels like a wonderful time to settle down and grow our family a bit.
Scotty and Gabi were married in June of last year, although they’d been dating since they were in junior high.

During their senior year of high school, the pair began dating and went to prom together, and the rest is history. In June 2018, the couple married in the North Carolina mountains after getting engaged in September 2017.

His wife attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, the university’s archrival, while he was a student at NC State. In the end, she earned a nursing degree from UNC in 2016.

She’s a pediatric nurse
Her Instagram bio states that Gabi is presently a pediatric nurse after graduating from the UNC School of Nursing in 2016. “The best of both worlds: combining my love for children and my career as a nurse!” she commented on Instagram regarding her current position.

There are multiple films featuring Gabi throughout Scotty’s discography that show her in prominent roles, the most recent of which being “This Is It,” which incorporates footage from the couple’s wedding.
