A week after reports surfaced that Maura Higgins and TV and radio host Roman Kemp were “all over each other” at a BRIT Awards after-party, the Love Island star has reportedly spoken out to dispel the rumours.
The reality star and social media influencer, it is claimed, is telling friends that she and Roman are just friends and nothing more.
According to a source close to Maura, “They have worked together and she was on his show on January 19, but they are just friends – there is nothing romantic between them.”
Also, a Roman representative said, “Roman and Maura are friends.”
In the summer of 2019, Maura Higgins rose to fame on Love Island, which was, in our opinion, the best series of the year.
It was only at the end of the series that she realised that Curtis Pritchard was the right guy for her, and we’ve been obsessing over Maura ever since.
In the year following their fourth-place finish on Strictly Come Dancing, Maura revealed she and Curtis had split up. She has since been dating professional dancer Giovanni Pernice from the show.
Gio and Maura ended their romance in October after a brief courtship, allegedly leaving Maura “heartbroken.”
Since splitting from Giovanni, who has Maura dated? Is she currently dating anyone? Everything you need to know about her love life is here…
It’s time for you to find out who Maura Higgins’ boyfriends are!
Maura Higgins dated James Finnegan for nine years before appearing on Love Island. The car salesman proposed in 2013 to Maura and James, whom she had known since they were students in Ireland. Although they are never married, her modelling career took off and they split up four years later.
Once she entered the Love Island villa, Maura had her sights set on Tommy Fury, despite the fact that he was happily married to Molly-Mae Hague. Tommy didn’t respond to Maura’s best efforts (“Does she turn on you like I do?”).
Maura and Tom Walker, a second-season Love Island entrant, dated after the show’s fifth episode aired. After winning a night in the hideaway with Maura, Tom put his foot in it by remarking, “It’ll be interesting to see if she’s all mouth.” The end of their romance may have been the result, but it was also one of the most memorable scenes from Love Island ever.
Maura dated Marvin Brooks in Casa Amor after splitting with Tom. It wasn’t until they returned to the main villa, where Lucie Donlan and George Rains were also dumped by their respective partners, that Maura realised she was no longer interested in Marvin.
It was shocking when Maura Pritchard admitted she liked Curtis Pritchard after they’d been in the villa for weeks with different people. They officially became a couple on day 46 and came in fourth place overall. However, Maura revealed that they had broken up in March 2020, a year after they started dating after the show.
In the months that followed, Maura and Curtis made a number of digs at each other, with cheating accusations on both sides, despite her insistence that things were “amicable” between them.
Maura was spotted on a date with actor Bradley James in October 2020, just a few months after splitting from Curtis. When the country was put on lockdown, it appears their budding romance was put on hold “I’m still looking for a guy. I was able to reenter the dating pool, which was a positive outcome… Although we’ve now entered a lockdown, I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that again in the near future. This simply isn’t the right time for me!”
Maura finally confirmed her relationship with Love Island co-star Chris Taylor in November 2020 after months of speculation that their friendship had turned romantic. “He’s mine… @christophertaylorofficial,” she captioned a picture of the two of them on a trip to Dubai at the time.
They had been seeing each other for almost six months when they suddenly announced their breakup in May of 2021. Chris and I have decided to call it quits on our relationship, and it breaks my heart to even type this,” Maura wrote at the time.
Maura and Giovanni Pernice were first rumoured to be dating in June 2020, when they appeared to be vacationing at the same hotel in Cornwall and watching an England football match together before Maura went back to work. After a month, a series of Instagram photos confirmed their relationship.
However, reports claimed that Gio had dumped Maura in October 2020 because he was too busy with Strictly Come Dancing. In a statement, the dancer confirmed their breakup, saying, “There is nothing wrong with ending a great relationship with a great person. Recently, this has been my experience as well. There was no wrongdoing, and this should put an end to any further speculation.”
Maura and Roman Kemp, a DJ and TV host, were spotted “glued” to each other at a BRITs afterparty in February 2022. “They were dancing together and laughing a lot, they seemed to be glued to each other’s sides all night,” a source told The Sun at the time.
They are “just friends,” according to Roman people, however.
