It has been confirmed by ET that fan favorite and Survivor veteran Keith Nale, age 62, has passed away.
Wes, Keith’s son, tells ET that his father died earlier that day. We learned of his cancer diagnosis in January, after he had already been fighting it for several months.
Brother Kevin Nale tells ET, “A life taken way too soon!” about his brother Keith.
So swiftly it all happened. Death from cancer finally claimed his life. Kevin said, “He passed away this afternoon in his Shreveport, Louisiana, home.”
Survivor: San Juan del Sur and Survivor: Cambodia were both seasons in which Keith competed. In Survivor: San Juan del Sur, Wes competed with his dad.
Although he started off as an underdog on Survivor: San Juan del Sur, Keith made it all the way to the final four thanks to his prowess in Immunity Challenges and clever use of the Hidden Immunity Idol. That year’s champion was Natalie Anderson.
When Keith returned for Survivor: Cambodia, he continued to play the same game but with an emphasis on teamwork. Keith’s shift in allegiance was the result of much planning and deliberation. His elimination came just two days before the Final Tribal Council, when the majority’s primary target, Kelley Wentworth, was granted immunity. Ultimately, the season was won by Jeremy Collins.
Wentworth wrote on Twitter Tuesday night, “Keith – a man with the purest heart, who brought humor into moments where it was needed.” in respect to her late Survivor co-star.

I’m thankful that fate brought me into contact with Keith, and that we were able to make some wonderful beach memories together in Nicaragua and Cambodia. All of the Nales have my deepest sympathies. This is an extremely sad event.
