Her botox journey

Angela Bassett, 64, is always seen expressing herself very openly and shares that she has done a little bit of them and has done botox twice. The actors are always seen keeping their personal lives away from the public’s eye but the actress is happy to share her journey.

Nowadays, celebrities are very much into preserving their charismatic looks, and being a part of the entertainment industry it becomes a big yes for them to have such aesthetic surgeries.

The actress shares that she had done Botox and it helped her in smoothening her frown lines between the eyebrows and the ‘worry lines’ over the forehead, and it has also opened up her eyes to the sides, removing the ‘crow’s feet wrinkles.

She expresses how important it is to think of ourselves sometimes. Some things need our timely attention as we grow and there is no shame in loving and doing things for ourselves and we should be selfish sometimes.

She further goes on to say

“As you get older, the things you could get away with not doing anything in your 20s or 30s can begin to catch up, so you have to be a bit selfish in terms of giving to yourself so that you have more to offer,”

The actress shares her regime for having nice, healthy, and smooth skin and shares how has she managed to keep her body and looks intact.

“I try to get away with seven hours of sleep, but if it’s six hours, I feel it immediately. There’s less bounce-back! You have to take care of yourself at anyhow.”

Angela’s mother was a true inspiration for her and she tells how in her young days her mom helped her in taking care of her skin. Taking care of her skin is a part of her life now and she is very particular about eating and staying healthy.

“Even though my mother was a woman of little means, she would take me to a dermatologist every six weeks when I was a young girl in my teenage years. And when I was a young actress living in New York after I completed college, I would go to an aesthetician when I could afford to.”
