It has been rainbows and butterflies for Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia as they tied the knot for the second time.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 41, and the Nigerian-born billionaire, 57, wed once again in an American ceremony on Saturday in Atlanta after exchanging vows on Friday in accordance with traditional Nigerian local law and custom.
According to People, Williams, 41, walked down the aisle at a Methodist church, wearing a white lace Frida ballgown.
“I definitely want the Lord to be in the place. I want the Holy Spirit to usher us into being a husband and wife,” she told the outlet ahead of the ceremony.
“I’m from the south, so I love being in church. I’ve never been married in a church, and Simon’s never been married in a church, so it’s going to be a new experience for both of us.”
Additionally, it was also reported that 350 guests attended Williams and Guobadia, and exchanged wedding vows. Some of the Housewives fellows also attended the wedding including Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Monyetta Shaw, Kandi Burruss, Drew Sidora, and Cynthia Bailey.
“We call each other ‘hubby’ and ‘wifey’ all the time, but now it’s going to be official, so I think I’m going to cry,” Williams gushed to People. “Simon says he’s not going to cry, but he’s cried at home when we just talk about our relationship, so I think he’s going to cry. I think we have a silent bet.”
Multiple parties for the couple’s big day were always in the cards, Williams previously said. The reality personality revealed their plans for three weddings on her radio program “Dish Nation” in May 2021.
She stated, “He’s African, so we’re going to have a native law and custom ceremony, and a conventional wedding, and then we’re going to have another wedding in one of the mansions that are out of the country.”
Williams and Guobadia’s relationship had a contentious beginning because the businessman had previously been wed to the Bravo star’s “RHOA” co-star Falynn Pina when they first met.
Just a few weeks after Pina, 32, said she and Simon had broken up, the now-married pair announced they were engaged in May 2021.
Williams always emphasized, though, that she did not interfere with the former couple’s marriage, writing on social media at the time, “Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been finalized. Everybody’s lives have improved as a result of our partnership.
It’s our final marriage, OK?, the author of “Pursuit of Porsha” playfully said to People on Friday. Together, we have a place. That is all there is to it. Finding your person is a blessing. It doesn’t happen frequently.
Williams’ previous marriage, which lasted from 2011 to 2013, to Kordell Stewart was shown in Season 1 of “RHOA.” She was formerly engaged to Dennis McKinley, with whom she had a 2-year-old daughter named Pilar. Whereas Guobadia has five children from prior marriages: Quentin, Nicole, Christian, Benjamin, and Ximena.
