Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

These Air Fryer Chicken Wings are crispy on the outside, juicy in the center, and incredibly easy to make. A simple blend of paprika, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper gives the wings plenty of savory flavor, while a little baking powder helps create beautifully crisp skin without deep frying. Serve them with buffalo sauce, ranch, barbecue sauce, or your favorite wing dip.

  • 2 pounds chicken wings split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Large mixing bowl

  1. Pat the chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels. Removing as much surface moisture as possible helps the skin become crisp during air frying.

  2. Place the wings in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss well to coat each piece evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the baking powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the wings and toss until every piece is evenly coated.

  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each piece. Avoid overcrowding the basket so the hot air can circulate properly.
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 16 to 20 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through cooking. Continue until the skin is deeply golden and crisp and the chicken reaches at least 165°F internally.

  6. Transfer the cooked wings to a plate and let them rest for about 5 minutes. Toss them with buffalo sauce, barbecue sauce, or another favorite wing sauce if desired and serve the crispy wings with your favorite dipping sauce.
