This easy 7 Layer Dip is creamy, cheesy, fresh, and packed with classic Tex-Mex flavor. Layers of seasoned refried beans, zesty guacamole, taco-spiced sour cream, salsa, cheddar cheese, and fresh toppings come together for a colorful party appetizer that is always a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients
  

For the Bean Layer
  • 1 can 16 ounces refried pinto beans
  • ¼ cup chunky salsa
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Guacamole Layer
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 small jalapeño finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Sour Cream Layer
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 Roma tomato diced
  • ½ cup sliced green onions
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño thinly sliced
  • ½ cup sliced black olives optional

Method
 

  1. n a medium bowl, stir the refried beans with salsa and salt until smooth and well combined. Spread the mixture evenly across the bottom of an 8×8-inch serving dish.

  2. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash with lime juice, cilantro, chopped jalapeño, and salt until creamy but still slightly chunky.
  3. Spread the guacamole evenly over the refried bean layer, making sure it reaches the edges of the dish.
  4. In another bowl, stir the sour cream and taco seasoning together until smooth. Spread it gently over the guacamole to create the third layer.

  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly over the sour cream layer, followed by the diced tomatoes and sliced green onions.

  6. Finish the dip with fresh cilantro, sliced jalapeño, and black olives if using. Spread the toppings evenly so each scoop gets a little of every layer and serve immediately with tortilla chips, or cover and refrigerate for up to a day before serving.
