Marty McFly Parkinson’s Disease Update

Since he was a young guy, Michael J. Fox, who plays Marty McFly, has struggled with health issues. Parkinson’s disease has affected him since he was 29 years old. In 1991, he first began exhibiting signs of Parkinson’s disease with early onset.

He was filming the movie DOC Hollywood at the time, but regrettably, he was soon given the disease’s diagnosis. At the convention, he did concede that he had Parkinson’s disease, saying, “Parkinson’s is the gift that keeps on giving, but it’s a blessing, and he wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

According to his 2002 autobiography Lucky Man, when he was diagnosed, physicians told him that he only had ten years left to work before his health got too bad. Michael claimed that he had suppressed reality and that by coming out, his acting career would be in jeopardy.

In addition, he made his acting debut in the 1996 political drama Spin City, for which he received three Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy. He revealed his condition to the public in 1998, and he left the program in 2000 to serve as a lobbyist and advocate for Parkinson’s research.
