The Umbrella Academy Season 3: Cast, Release Date, and More Updates!

Entertainment TV. Series

Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy ended on a big cliffhanger as the Umbrellas time-traveled out of the 1960s moments before another possible apocalypse and returned to 2019, only to face the Sparrow Academy. The only thing we know about the Sparrows is that they are a parallel universe counterpart of the Umbrellas, led by their own Ben (Justin H. Min).

We’ve got a lot of questions about what that means and how big of a problem the Sparrows will be for the Umbrellas. Thankfully, Season 3 is on the way, and it will pick up right where the Season 2 finale left off, allowing us to learn more about the alternate-reality version of 2019 in which Reginald (Colm Feore) is still alive and an even more dangerous set of paranormal adoptive siblings is attempting to protect the world.

Javon Walton of Euphoria was revealed as a Season 3 cast member in March 2022. “I heard a rumor… that Javon Walton will be joining the cast of Umbrella Academy Season 3 – and I’m delighted to report that it is true!” Netflix sent out a tweet from its official account. Details on who Walton will play and how he will fit into the season have yet to be revealed.

Season 3 will also feature a slew of new cast members, who will play the new Sparrow Academy from the parallel realm where the Umbrella Academy arrived at the end of Season 2. Marcus will be played by Justin Cromwell (I Am the Night), Fei by Britne Oldford (Hunters), Sloane by Genesis Rodriguez (Time After Time), Jayme by Cazzie David, and Alphonso by Jake Epstein (Degrassi: The Next Generation).

The series has also cast an “existential dread-inducing-psykronium cube” to play Christopher, one of the Sparrows, according to Netflix. A character description reads, “Christopher is a telekinetic cube of unknown origin.” “He has the ability to make a room ice cold and paralyze fear.” That ought to be entertaining.

In this reality, Justin H. Min will play a different version of his character Ben, who will head the Sparrows team.

Of course, all of the main characters from the series will return in Umbrella Academy Season 3. Vanya will be played by Elliot Page once again, with Luther played by Tom Hopper, Diego played by David Castaeda, Allison played by Emmy Raver-Lampman, Klaus played by Robert Sheehan, and Five played by Aidan Gallagher.
