Early Life & Education

Ryan Gosling As The Famous Ken Doll Transformation

Gosling’s father, Thomas Ray Gosling, was a traveling salesman for a paper mill, and his mother, the Donna, was a secretary when Ryan was born on November 12, 1980, in London, Ontario. While his father’s heritage is predominantly German and English, his mother’s includes some Scottish and Irish as well.

Gosling has stated that his upbringing was heavily affected by his parents’ Mormonism. Nevertheless, he claimed that “[Mormonism] was never something I could ever get behind. ” Gosling grew up in both Cornwall, Ontario, and Burlington, Ontario, as a result of his father’s job.

When he was 13, his parents split, and he and his older sister, Mandi, moved in with their mother, an experience Gosling attributes to “programming him to think like a girl”.

Gosling went to Gladstone Public School, Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School, and Lester B. Pearson High School. He was inspired to become an actor after watching Dick Tracy as a child. In elementary school, he was bullied and had no friends until he was “14 or 15.” He “hated” being a kid.

First Blood inspired him to bring steak knives to school and throw them at other kids during recess in first grade. The suspension was a result of this incident. After being assessed for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), he was not diagnosed with it and, according to claims, never received medication. He was in fact unable to read. For a year, his mother took time off work to educate him at home.

Homeschooling provided him “a sense of liberty that I’ve never really lost,” he said. Gosling’s sister, who was also a performer, inspired him to begin performing in front of crowds at a young age. In addition to performing with Elvis Perry, his uncle’s Elvis Presley imitation act, he was a member of a local ballet company and sang at weddings alongside his sister.

The only thing he earned praise for was his performance, which improved his self-confidence. Because he thought a Canadian accent didn’t seem “rough” as a kid, he got an odd one as an adult. He started mimicking Marlon Brando’s voice. [To concentrate on his acting career, he dropped out of high school at the age of seventeen.]

A First Look At Ryan Gosling As The Famous Ken Doll Transformation With Chiseled Chest And Bleached Hair

Ryan Gosling was once famously asked, “Seriously? In the upcoming “Barbie” film, he’ll be playing Ken, a character that looks like he was Photoshopped.

Gosling portrays the plastic hottie in all his glory in the first look at the actor in filmmaker Greta Gerwig’s live-action version of the famed Mattel figurine.

The actor embraces the fantasy in a photo released by Warner Bros. on Wednesday, sporting bleached blonder than blonde hair, presumably buckets of spray tan lotion, and his own monogrammed “Ken” undies.

Gosling appears in a denim outfit with a shredded vest and matching jeans against a Barbie pink backdrop, showing off his chiselled abs.

Margot Robbie as the titular doll was unveiled in April, and this photo is an excellent follow-up.

The famous pair could possibly be looking at each other if they were put side-by-side because of their comparable color palettes and clothes. In the photo, Robbie is sitting in the driver’s seat of a pink Chevrolet Corvette convertible, while Gosling appears like he’s straight out of a 1990s Marky Mark-style underwear ad.

A number of other actors will be appearing in the film in addition to Robbie and Gosling, such as Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera, Ncuti Gatwa, and Simu Liu. The movie “Barbie,” written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, will open in theatres on July 21, 2023.

Earlier this month, Liu hinted at what fans might expect from the script, which an agent regarded as “one of the best” he had ever read..

The “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star told GQ that “he literally said this directly.” If he could put his entire career on one script, it would be the ‘Barbie’ script,” he said. Doing so would be a great idea.'”

In addition, Robbie has hinted at the film’s approach to the role in recent interviews. As recently as 2020, the actress and producer expressed her desire to honor Barbie’s legacy and defy viewer expectations with her portrayal of the iconic doll.

In the words of Margot Kidder to The Hollywood Reporter, “People have an idea of, ‘Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is.” Instead of being like “Whatever you think we can do better than that,” our objective is to be like, “We’re going to do better than that, and we’re going to do better than that.”

Netflix’s action film “The Gray Man,” starring Chris Evans, will be Gosling’s next project. In some parallel reality, Ken’s cut-off denim vest would fit him well.
