Early Life
In Queens, New York City, Philip Rosenthal was born on January 27, 1960. Phil grew up primarily in New City, Rockland County, New York, where he was raised as a Jew. Phil’s passion for the performing arts began in high school when he joined the school’s theatre club. He was also a member of the school’s theatre troupe. Rosenthal attended Hofstra University after graduating from high school in 1977.

Career
Phil began his acting career in New York City after graduating from college in 1981. The production side of entertainment, particularly television, eventually drew him into its folds. Coach and “Baby Talk” were two of the first shows that earned him producer honors.
Later, Phil went on to create “Everybody Loves Raymond,” his most popular show to date. Due to Rosenthal’s connection with Ray Romano, who co-produced the series, it was able to produce the series. Phil’s wife Monica Horan played a key role in the series, which was highly influenced by Ray’s comedic work. Despite the creative flexibility granted to Ray Romano, Phil played an important role behind the scenes and penned or co-wrote the scripts for about 20 episodes of the show.

While working on “America: A Tribute to Heroes,” Phil received a Peabody Award and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing in the early 2000s. He was one of the co-writers of the 9/11 tribute. As part of his efforts to get “Everybody Loves Raymond” into Russian homes, he made a film about his experiences in the country.
While filming for the six-part “I’ll Have What Phil Is Having” series, Phil began to appear. While traveling the world, Rosenthal experienced a wide variety of cuisines. “Somebody Feed Phil,” which debuted on Netflix in 2018, was a follow-up to this show, which was not renewed for a second season.
