An Agent for Johnny Depp Claims Disney Dropped Him from The 'pirates of The Caribbean' Franchise Over Amber Heard's Abuse Allegations

According to his former Hollywood agency, Johnny Depp was pulled from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise due to domestic abuse charges brought by Amber Heard, confirming the actor’s claim against his ex-wife.

In a videotaped deposition in Depp’s defamation claim against Heard, Christian Carino, who works for Creative Arts Agency, said, “My judgment is that it was related to the accusations that Amber has made.”

Depp sued Heard for defamation after she penned a letter for The Washington Post in December 2018 describing herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Amber Heard, 36, never named Depp, 58, but he sued her for insinuating he was a domestic abuser, asking $50 million in damages.

Heard, who was born in Texas, countersued for $100 million, saying she was subjected to “rampant physical violence and torture” at his hands.

Depp launched the defamation suit in the United States after losing a separate libel action against The Sun in London in November 2020, in which he claimed the newspaper called him a “wife-beater.”

Carino, Depp, and Heard’s former agent said Disney never directly stated that Depp was being dismissed from the “Pirates” franchise due to domestic abuse allegations, but it was “known.”

Depp, who testified previously on his own behalf, blamed Heard’s charges for the loss of his lucrative position as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Just Filling Space

Carino, who was formerly engaged to Lady Gaga, was also asked about Heard’s post-divorce friendship with Elon Musk, the millionaire inventor of Tesla and SpaceX.

Lawyers for Depp read text conversations between Carino and Heard, who starred in the film “Aquaman,” in August 2017.

“Dealing with the end of a relationship. I despise it when things become public. See, I’m really depressed “Heard revealed the end of her romance with Musk in a text message.

“You weren’t in love with him,” Carino said, “and you told me 1,000 times you were only filling space.” “If you weren’t in love with him, to begin with, why are you sad?”

“I know,” Heard replied, “but I wanted time to grieve and recover on my own schedule.”

“I don’t know,” Carino responded when asked by a lawyer for Depp if Heard was referring to Musk or Depp.

He also gave her some counsel. “All of this could be avoided if you stopped dating ultra-famous people,” he remarked. “You don’t have to be with a famous big man.”

Last week, Johnny Depp testified that the accusations that he was a “drunk, cocaine-fueled thug who battered women” lost him “everything.”

Depp denied ever physically hurting Heard, claiming that it was she who was the most violent.

Depp, a three-time Academy Award nominee, and Heard met on the set of “The Rum Diary” in 2009 and married in February 2015. After two years, their divorce was formalized.
