On Friday evening at the 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Jennifer Aniston essentially paid tribute to her father, John Aniston.
In recognition of his 37 years as Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives, John, 88, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the presentation this year.
Before a video of Jennifer appeared on the screen at the ceremony, John’s Days of Our Lives co-star Suzanne Rogers introduced the prize. The actress Jennifer lauded her father’s accomplished career in the video.
Jennifer, 53, declared that this was a particularly wonderful occasion for her. “It’s a chance to not only honor a true icon in the daytime television industry, but it’s also a chance to honour the lifetime accomplishments of a wonderful and well-respected actor, who also happens to be my dad.”
Jennifer added, before citing her father’s long list of accomplishments, “John Aniston has been regularly working in television for almost fifty years.”
The actress claimed that her father was involved in all of these endeavors “while concurrently appearing in every soap opera imaginable.” He’s likely been involved in anything; you name it.
She continued, “For more than 30 years, his commitment to that show has earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow actors, the enduring friendships, and the awe of millions of fans worldwide. He literally embodies lifetime excellence in his professional life.
John received a rousing round of applause from the crowd for his legendary career even if he couldn’t attend in person.
John talked about what he thought was noteworthy in his daughter’s performance before she became famous for her role on Friends.

In 1990, John stated to E! News, “Jennifer is a natural gift.” “In this industry, there are some things you can learn and some things you can’t. She always has the perfect sense of humour. Her strongest quality is that.
After a decade of portraying Rachel Green on the NBC Must-See TV sitcom, the actress went on to earn a 2002 Emmy Award.
A tender moment for the father and daughter, whose relationship has occasionally been rocky, was the Anistons’ onstage expression of admiration.
She honoured her “papa” in 2019 by posting a sepia-tinted image of herself as a young child cuddling up to him and encircling his neck.
Later, in a picture, the elder Aniston’s grinned as Jennifer leaned on her father.
She posted a photo on Instagram captioned, “Christmas with one of my creators.” Then and today, #TBT Regards, father.
