Andy Cohen asked Shah why she needed four aides and to “explain down what each of them does for you outside of clapping for your gorgeous costumes and driving you around” when she appeared at the season’s reunion in February 2021.

Do you think you could lend a hand? I’d really appreciate that.” It’s a diverse group of people,” a TV celebrity said.

There are a lot of enterprises and firms that I manage, each of which has a different position in the company.

Cohen then pressed Shah to elaborate on her job duties. Direct response marketing has been a part of my career for over two decades.

“We have a platform that helps people gain customers, so when you’re buying online or on the Internet, and something pops, we have the algorithm behind why you’re getting shown that ad,” she explained.

There are three other enterprises she founded: XA Fashion, Shah Beauty, and The Real Shah Lashes.

Another source of income for Shah’s family comes from Sharrieff Shah’s position as an assistant football coach at the University of Utah.

Sharrieff Shah Sr. and Omar Shah are the couple’s two sons.

U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of New York published a news release on March 30, 2021, stating that Jen Shah and her aide, Stuart Smith, had been detained in Salt Lake City, Utah, on that date.

It was alleged that they conspired to commit wire fraud and money laundering in conjunction with telemarketing.

According to Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss in a press release, “Shah, who portrays herself as a wealthy and successful businessperson on reality television, and Smith, who is portrayed as Shah’s “first assistant,” allegedly generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam,” she said.

Fraudulent schemes to steal money from unsuspecting customers were promoted to them by Shah, Smith, and their co-conspirators as legitimate business prospects.

This is what Strauss claimed. “These offenders now face time in prison for their alleged offenses.

It has been alleged that Shah and Smith, as well as others participating in the scheme, deceived several Americans, many of whom were over the age of 55.

In addition to purportedly selling “business services,” they supposedly offered a wide range of other products. According to court documents, several of the alleged victims were old and did not have access to a computer at the time.

Wire fraud allegations have a possible term of 30 years in prison, while money laundering accusations carry an additional 20 years in prison for Shah and her aide.

Shah was “embarrassed” by the controversy, a source told Us Weekly shortly after his arrest.

At a hearing in April of 2021, a mother of two pled not guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of money laundering.

The trial is now scheduled to begin on July 18, 2022, after a series of setbacks. It is slated to last five weeks.

Apparently, Shah amended her plea on July 11, 2022, to guilty.

As reported by ABC’s Good Morning America, defense counsel Priya Chaudhry indicated at the opening of the session that Shah wished to withdraw her not guilty plea.

“I agreed with others to commit wire fraud in the Southern District of New York and elsewhere from 2012 through March 2021,” Shah said in a prepared statement to Judge Sidney Stein.

“It seemed obvious to me that this was incorrect.” I’m truly sorry; I had no idea so many individuals had been wounded.”
