Cardi B’s long-awaited album is officially here. The “Up” rapper is releasing a new solo track, dubbed “Hot Sh*t,” on July 1 for the first time in almost a year. Cardi B announced the release of her new song, “Hot Sh*t,” through Instagram on Sunday.
“Coming soon, Cardi B, July 1” appeared across the screen with neon orange lettering in a dramatic visual depicting her soaring above New York City in a superhero-style attire. According to Cardi B’s Instagram post on June 27, the “Hot Sh*t” album cover features Kanye West and Lil Durk, two of the biggest names in music.
Before “Invasion of Privacy,” Cardi B’s sophomore effort for which she won a Grammy, she’ll release “Hot Sh*t.” The release of Cardi B’s second album will be her first in almost four years.
In an interview with XXL in April 2021, Cardi B talked about the process of making her new album. It’s “like a timetable that I built,” she says of the album’s release date, to the outlet’s credit. “Because last year, I decided that this year, I would release my record. But then, out of nowhere, I stopped working on my record because I was disappointed by the COVID situation.”
Cardi B has had a busy year, welcoming her son Wave Set Cephus and appearing on two major singles, Kay Flock’s drill anthem “Shake It” and Summer Walker and SZA’s remix of “No Love.”. As a result, her devoted followers are eagerly anticipating the release of her own album.
