The Boston Celtics selected West in the fourth round of the 2004 NBA Draft, with the 24th overall pick. There were just 39 games played in his debut season because of a number of ailments. West was named the starting point guard for the 2005-06 season during his rookie year. In time for the 2006-07 season, West was shifted to the shooting guard position on the team. The stars were not on West’s side, however, as he struggled in the beginning and was eventually shifted back to the point guard position.
East traded for West in 2007, and by early 2008, he was dealt with the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of a three-team deal. Only six days after the trade, West set a season-high with 20 points against the Boston Celtics as a Cavalier.
The Cavaliers signed West to a three-year deal worth $12.7 million in the fall of 2008. As a result, West was forced to go from point guard to shooting guard as a backup.
A few people were surprised when West developed as a talented backcourt defender and an excellent outside shooter. As a result of that deal, he ended up with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where his career was cut short. As of late 2010, West had agreed to join the Boston Celtics as a backup point guard for Rajon Rondo.

While working at the rehabilitation centre in 2021, West was reunited with his family. Later that year, he was arrested for a second time, this time for drunken behaviour at the police station. Apparently, ex-supporters players are once again asking for money in the streets. After a tremendous NBA career, he is the player who has fallen to his lowest point.
The fact that West’s wife has not yet divorced him despite his helpless state demonstrates how much she cares for him. However, she now lives with her family after spending years in a dilapidated house due to lack of maintenance. West was formerly well-known for his time with the Cavaliers, where he was a teammate of LeBron James.
