Dobrik’s first post on Vine, a short-form video sharing service that is no longer available, was in 2013. Attracted a significant following of over a million on the Vine app with his six-second video, he collaborated regularly with other Vine stars like Liza Koshy and Gabbie Hanna and Jason Nash. At the conclusion of the Second Class channel in 2015, there were more than 18,000 subscribers.
In 2015, Dobrik created his own YouTube channel, “David Dobrik,” based on his Vine popularity. Vine collaborators frequently appear in his YouTube videos, which are typically comedic vlogs based on real-life circumstances or semi-scripted settings.
In August of this year, he launched “David Dobrik Too,” a second YouTube channel. Blooper reels, challenge videos, and direct sponsorships are the mainstays of this side channel.
With more than 10 million followers on his YouTube channel, Dobrik was awarded a Diamond Play Button from YouTube in December 2018. According to PAPER magazine that year, he was one of the 10 social media personalities making the most noise. Dobrik’s YouTube vlog channel had over 15 million members and 6.4 billion views as of December 2019.
In 2019, it was the sixth most popular YouTube channel, with 2.4 billion years of viewing time in that year alone. Another short-form video sharing platform, TikTok, named one of Dobrik’s films on a large-scale elephant toothpaste experiment its Number 1 Top Viral Video in late December of 2018. As of this writing, the video had been seen more than 175 million times.

Dobrik also hosts a podcast, “VIEWS,” with fellow YouTuber and former Vine star Jason Nash, in addition to his video material. VIEWS Podcast is Dobrik’s third YouTube channel, where he broadcasts the VIEWS video podcasts. As a result, he was highlighted by The Verge as one of the YouTubers who managed to make podcasts work on YouTube despite the platform’s strong focus on video content.
Gigi Hadid, Joe Jonas, and Diana Silvers were all included in W magazine’s July 2019 piece on the trend of creating a second Instagram account to showcase images made using film or disposable cameras.
Dobrik was also featured. “David’s Disposable,” Dobrik’s mobile camera app, was released in January 2020 and enables smartphone users to take retro-looking photos of themselves. The app itself is ad-supported, but users may decide to pay $1 a month for ad-free access to all features.
In order to mimic the time it takes for disposable camera images to be developed, users can shoot photos straight in the app, but they must wait until 9 AM the next day before they are available. Prints of your photos may be purchased right from the app. The app exceeded one million downloads in February 2020.
Numerous publications and honours, such as the 2019 Teen Choice Awards’ Choice Male Web Star award, attest to Dobrik’s popularity and success. In August 2019, Variety magazine included him in its annual “Power of Young Hollywood” list, while People magazine named him the year’s Sexiest Heartthrob. Dobrik was also recognised by teens as the top social media influencer and personality to follow in a Piper Jaffray & Co. study.
Sponsors and Advertisers
For National Burrito Day in April 2019, Chipotle teamed up with Dobrik to offer him the Dobrik Burrito, which is the restaurant chain’s official National Burrito Day offering.
Streamys Brand Awards in September 2019 honoured Dobrik for this relationship, which earned the Brand Engagement Award. A relationship with SeatGeek has created as much interest in Google searches as “mainstream” partnerships like Chrissy Teigen and Target.
Dobrik said in an interview with Insider in November 2019 that he could generate $275,000 a month in advertising revenue from his YouTube videos with only 16 million monthly views. Since YouTube’s “Adpocalypse,” which aims to promote more family-friendly material, has tightened its restrictions, he earns less than $2,000 each video despite receiving more than 200 million views.
Other Pursuits Beyond the Internet
Dobrik joined Ciara and Debbie Gibson as a judge on Nickelodeon’s “America’s Most Musical Family” in July of this year. While he was a guest judge on the ninth season of “Chopped Junior,” he presented the American Music Awards in 2019.
As an actor, he appeared in the 2015 short film “An Interrogation” and voiced the character of Axel in “The Angry Birds Movie 2,” both of which were released in 2016. (2019).
