Ashley Judd’s road to recovery continues following her “catastrophic” fall in the Congo rainforest earlier this month.
On Monday, the 52-year-old actress informed fans that she had returned to the United States, where she had undergone an eight-hour surgery to repair her leg.
“In an American hospital, I had to continue to wait for the tissue damage and swelling to subside,” she wrote on Instagram. “Eventually, I was qualified for the 8-hour surgery to repair the bones, decompress the hemorrhaging nerve, and remove the bone shards from the nerve.” “I’m currently recovering from surgery.”
Ashley Judd broke her leg in four places and suffered nerve damage after tripping in the dark over a fallen tree. She had been tracking bonobos, an endangered species of great ape.
Judd expressed heartfelt gratitude to African medical professionals as well as her father, who traveled to South Africa to be with her.
Judd described how they returned to the United States after a 22-hour journey that included four flights. The actress later underwent surgery.
Judd spoke candidly about her 55-hour rescue last week, and she also shared images of the ordeal on Instagram.
Ashley Judd Has Fattened Her Face With Fillers, Says Expert
“Ashley Judd’s wrinkles are missing,” celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn, who has not treated the star, told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. “I am astounded that she appears to have changed her face in this manner.”
The Kiss The Girls star debuted her new hamster-cheeked look on The Marilyn Denis Show in Toronto, Canada, on Monday, where she was promoting her new TV show, Missing. Although her famous figure appears more curvaceous than usual, the weight gain cannot explain the extreme puffiness.
“I suspect she’s had a good dose of Botox in her forehead to smooth it and fat injections into her cheeks to plump them up,” he continued.
“Ashley had some of the best cheekbones in the business ten years ago.” Unfortunately, they now appear too puffy. “Hopefully, they’re swollen from a recent treatment and will settle down soon,” he concluded.
Judd, who is married to race car driver Dario Franchitti, joins the growing list of celebrities who have gone overboard with fillers and ended up looking like they’re stockpiling nuts for the winter.
